Trauma kit fitted between wood and metal work

@Lewisss and I fitted the trauma kit which was delivered. It’s on the wall outside the ceramics room, between wood and metalwork so it’s accessible from both. Easily moved if need be, it’s two screws. @metaltechs [PXL_20250201_160607110]

Now that the pledge is starting to get income, we should discuss models?

We use ZOLL at work, I can’t say I’ve used one in a real situation, but it seems nice that this model gives feedback on compressions, and has a Z shaped pad to ensure best positioning.

What are people’s thoughts, do they have preferences?

There are more expensive models.

This model comes in automatic or semi-automatic, given we’re not going to have trained people around the recommendation seems to be for automatic, but it does reduce the speed with which CPR starts/stops, however it guarantees they get a shock if they need one.

I think it’s safe to say there’s no strong preference. Semi-automatic is perfectly fine for our workshop, it gives the user a bit of control when the shock is delivered, to ensure nobody is touching the patient etc., I think that’s fine for us. Currently, any AED is better than no AED so let’s just buy one.

Not looking to start a debate about this, but as above, automatic is what we should be going for as we do not have consistency around trained users being around to minimise delay and indecision about shocking which also could result in poorer compressions and breaths.
