Ultimaker 2+ back in action all 3d printer users

Tags: #<Tag:0x00007fa4989a2c68>

the ultimaker now has been upgraded to 2+
completely new head, extruder and ruby nozzle

which means we can now print pla with carbon, metal and wood.

the firmware has been updated also

i have also changed Cura to the latest version… and deleted all ultimaker 2 profiles
please be aware all of your old g codes may not be compatible with the new upgrades.

I would advise reslicing them again on the cura software on the mac
or if you are using your own version change the machine to the ultimaker 2+

by the way I have noticed a considerable improvement on the prints already

any questions give me a shout

there is also a new tin of dimafix if you are having problems with print sticking to the bed…

if you use this it requires heated bed to be at 75c the print will release itself at under 50c

it is easily cleaned of the bed with a damp cloth

it only requires a very light spray in the area you are printing

Well done mark!

Nice, I will retry my print Thursday night so we can have a before and after comparison

Thanks Mark (and @directors) for getting this sorted so quickly, much appreciated!

Wow thanks

Great work Mark. So many possibilities now. The printer still takes 2.85mm filament right?

Is anyone going to be at the space this evening? I did my induction wth @laurent_muchacho on the day that the temp sensor died so I never got a chance to have a go and I’d really appreciate it if an experienced user could supervise for a bit.
