Reminder: SL Raspberry Jam Sunday 16th July 13:45 to 16:00 Clean Roon

Third Sunday of the month again!

Grace and Femi are in Bangladesh doing Pi- type things but are planning to Skype during the session.

Grace’s sister Maggie will be running the session. I’ve warned them that it’s the Lambeth Country Show all weekend so to leave extra travelling time as the surrounding roads will have restrictions and the estate can easily get clogged up with opportunistic parking.

Here’s the blurb:

This session will be ‘Wearables - Part 2’ - working with Lilypads, Microbits and coding.

This is a Tourettes and Autism friendly event, and suitable for all abilities - whether you’ve never typed a line of code or have created your own version of Minecraft.

It’s aimed at 9 to 15 year olds (with some flexibility). Siblings welcome - they often get drawn into the coding!

Anyone around to open up for Maggie or help out with the session? @courty @hannahintech @emuboy @anyone_else

Would be excellent to know that someone was going to be around so that the space will be open for this. You absolutely don’t have to get involved – but are very welcome to – but we do need a member to be present in the space.

There is a 98 to 100% chance of cake at these events.

Well, if there will be cake  I’m sure me and @emuboy will be able to be there, if only to open up!

This is today! If you’re in the space before 1:45 today please check that the clean room is in a good state for our guests. They’ll be using the main table and probably the projector and screen.

There’s a few of us here. Well have a bit of a tidy round

It’s the third Sunday of the month. Excellent that you happened upon it!

Just to let you know as well; Grace’s raspberry jam sessions are generally aimed at 9 years and above but me and @emuboy have been helping out the last few sessions and are quite likely to be around for future ones!

It went really well, there were fewer people than the last one I was at, but Grace and Femi called from Bangladesh which was an interesting experience! It went smoothly and the kids had fun. A lot of good stuff was made during the session like a wearable cat and dog counter and a wonderful fan made out of a motor and duct tape, as well as a motor controlled spinner to draw with! Maybe someone else can fill in some of the other details I missed. @emuboy? I didn’t get many pictures unfortunately! The fan was really cool (haha)
