Hey y’all!
Robin Baumgarten here, I used to be a regular at the SLMS until I moved to Berlin in 2020. Next week (30 Jun - 6 July 2025) I’ll be back in London to show my interactive art installation Quantum Jungle at the Royal Society Summer Festival! It’s a successor to a project that I was working on over 8 years ago at the SLMS, then called Quantum Garden.
It’s since grown and grown, and the garden became a jungle with over 1000 metal springs! Here’s a few cool photos:
If you’re keen to check it out and meet up, I’d recommend the Royal Society Summer Festival Lates on Tuesday evening: Lates: Quantum Jungle | Royal Society
After this week, I’ll be showing it again from October in the Science Gallery near the Shard. However, in the meantime, it’ll just sit in storage. Unless any of you know a cool place for it …
Hi Ben. Its lovely to find out who made line wobbler. I was already interested in addressable LED’s when I first seen it nearly three years ago. Since then I’ve been using WLED and ESP32 controllers to make psychedelic festival light panels. Im in the process of making BF Logo, Spiral II, 5 Bar Twins, 32 Bar Twins, Shapes Mandala and Tall Flame.
I would really enjoy going to see your show, and even more so, meeting up with you to discuss future plans. A few SLMS members call me the LED man but I simply say no, Jem Electro Tech is the LED man, and then theres you! Haha
Thank you for Line wobbler… it’s amazing! Is the code avaiable somewhere? We were talking about making one for outside the space and it would be good to see how you did it!
Great that y’all are loving Line Wobbler!
I do have a slightly improved version which has a hidden second stage, you can reach it by beating the game with less than 4 deaths. I don’t remember if the slms wobbler already has it… Time for someone to test that
I also brought a new Line Wobbler with me, just in case. I’ll try to make it down to SLMS, perhaps tomorrow evening, if anyone is there then?
