I’m totally into this idea. Also, if you’re looking for more people to be laser techs and/or do laser inductions I would be happy to get involved. I’ve been trying to work out how I can get involved more than being just a user of the space and this is probably where my skills are best placed (I could wave a laser safety certificate around if needed.) Anyway laser groups up Monday and nights are good days for it.

Shall we set a time of 19:30?
The idea was to help newly inducted members to the laser cutter to have a virtual handbook on the settings to use to cut various materials. Also step by step projects and the settings to achieve them using the trotec to help build confidence.
I am going to suggest we choose a theme each week and then try creating something using the different materials to build up best speeds and temperatures for cutting various projects.
So this Monday I am suggesting Flexible Joints. Open to other suggestions. We can test using acrylic
ply wood
leather (I can provide)
You can make anything you like from a note book cover to a chair, providing there is enough scrap material to achieve it.

Cutting rubber stamps is something I’d be interested in doing one day
@nico.dejong.nz has done some rubber stamp making on our laser, I believe?

what is a laser working group?
We can do that the following week if yiu arounf. I make all my business stamps that way.
A group of laser inducted members who come together and test different lasee curting settings through creating ramdon projecs.

I’ve seen too many sad desperate pleas for inductions, but I’m gonna make one! I Need laser to make a sign for my streetfood business. Once inducted; and experienced enough; I will be happy to induct ten more this year. Or if anyone can see a way to help me sooner rather than later with this, would be much appreciated. H
