Finding the Space
Here are directions to the space.
How do I get access to the space?
There are two levels of access:
- General Fob Access
- Shutter Access
General Fob Access
All members are entitled to a key fob which will unlock the front door of each arch, when the space is open.
To check when the space is open, and relevant area/machine available, refer to the bookings calendar.
Then edit the host’s booking to add your name in the relevant area: how to book the space.
The green tick or red cross in the top right also shows a live status of whether the space is open or closed. But bear in mind this doesn’t show how long it will be open or closed for, so it’s always best to refer to the calendar.
Getting a Key Fob
Come to the space when it is open, and ask for a new tag. Then see Membership System Guide: Enrolling a tag
Shutter Access
Shutter Access allows you to operate the roller shutter. This means you can book sessions on the calendar and open the space, hosting sessions for other members. How to book the space.
The shutter is also operated with your fob, but has to be added to your permissions.
There are a number of additional responsibilities that come with this so access is given to members who have been part of the Makerspace for some time and are recognised as responsible and contributing to the community.
For more information on how to get access and the added responsibilities, please see How To Get Shutter Access
