Free Dell Poweredge 1U Server

I can let you have a Dell Poweredge 750 for free. It is a 1U rack mount which I had mounted vertically on a wall so it takes up little space. I had it in my workshop to control CCTV cameras but I found the fans a bit too noisy so I moth balled it after 2 weeks usage.
It came with W2000 but now has XP.
Free to a good home.

Do we want more computers?

Thanks for considering us for donation - however my 2 cents is that we shouldn’t be accepting donations for PCs (for use at workstations) that aren’t speced up enough to run Windows 11.

This is to prevent the issue we recently had at the laser - where we were starting to be unable to run the latest software due to unsupported hardware/OS.

Let’s hope so because it would be a pity to junk it.

It’s good for shared file storage NAS on a network instead of Synology which I now have.

It’s near enough 25kgs but it is an easy carry.

You could wire it up in an old fireplace and use it to heat a room? :smiley:

It has one processor P4 and one HDD so I reckon your 1.3kw is wide of the mark. NB it is not a R750 - it’s the original 2004 Poweredge 750. I would guess it comes out at around 400w.
