Finish the Space weekend Sat 19th March edition

Tags: #<Tag:0x00007fa49480fc38>

I’m planning to be down from about midday (after helping set up another project)

Who’s up for some transformational work, as we bring this project ever closer to completion?

Not sure what needs doing, but as ever all skill levels are welcome, no experience necessary!

The electrical work needs finishing, earth wool and then plaster boarding.

Final wall cover needs deciding.

Toilet needs painting and new floor buying.

Social area needs clearing and the book shelf fitted, as well as resin replacement grouting done.

The doors need hanging and the door linings fitted, door closers need installing.

Floor varnish needs deciding.

Hello guys,
I would like to thank you for leting me yesterday to give you a hand with the electrical work and for accepting me to work with you. I just registered as a member and I would like to come on Sunday to give a hand if it is acceptable for you guys. I will finish my job at 6:00pm sot maybe at 7.30-8:00 pm I will be there. If you need a hand tell me and I can come there.

The more hands the better

V likely someone will be there late on Sunday. But check back here on the day.

Hey Rudi,
you get full marks as a new member. well done on getting involved straight away.
im there Sat, but there should be a Sunday crew as well

I should be free late afternoon. Will anyone be there after 5??

Finish the space, eh! The times they are a-changin’…

Is there enough room for makers to come down for normal making on Saturday and Sunday?

Yes…depending what you want to work on?

3d printing, laser cutting, sewing, electronics are all accessible.

Thank you Conomara. On Sat i can’t come because I work on double so only Sunday after 7.30 pm i can come. Do you guys need from me to bring some stuffs? I have some electronic stuffs like arduinos and electronic components or I also can bring some beers
Anyway, if anybody is going on Sunday after 7 o’clock write here and inform me please

Electrical check list before wall can be closed… @joeatkin2 and @unknowndomain have some of the detail too

  • 4mm cable run from left side, under floor and then thread through wall for wet side sockets.
  • 4mm tool lines from wall of wires, under floor, thread through wall to tool positions (this stalled as we weren’t sure where the bigger tool we’re going as it seems to have changed)
  • 1.5mm cable from the door control access panel (behind first set of switches) to fire door
  • control cables for mag lock on the @Dermot main door to access panel
  • wood noggins in wall to support all switches and sockets, flush to the front of the face of the support structure each with the cables pulled through a 25mm hole(s) in the centre of the noggin.(need 2x hole for the switches that line up with the knock outs in the back boxes)
  • need some more of the White kopex for the overhead cables if anyone is near screwfix

Think that’s the highlights ! Sounds a lot but we did most of the prep work already…

I will try to pop in today but will only be for a short time as I have family down and kids all over the place today…

Was there any of the roll insulation left?

Yeah, about a roll remains. Will need more though probably.

If you had an estimate of how far a roll went, I can work out the rest!

The third that was done, took all of your stuff, and about a third of the yellow roll. Three more is my guesstumate

Cool ! @joeatkin2, sound like you’ve been v busy… Are the wet side gantries up ?
If so the next job would be to put the light fitting base boxes up ready for wiring up. Sounds like we’re on the final straight now
