In which case there are 4 missing somewhere in the space… That and the White caps are also MIA. I suspect find the White caps, find the missing screws.
I’m free Saturday daytime, but it sounds like we can’t do any work then. Maybe there’s something else I can do with this time like some runs to the tip?
tricky. I think a lot of the Tip related stuff is sorted right now.
There are a bunch of jobs that need doing not phase 2 aligned (which right now really needs to be focused on lining alone) mainly some stuff in the washroom (see https://discourse.southlondonmakerspace.org/t/make-the-space-master-to-do-list/75)
Alternatively some general tidying of the worksite would always be gratefully received. Not sure how easy or practical some of these things would be to do whilst the IoT workshop is going though.
A tidy would be particularly invaluable, because we’ve lost somewhere in the junk 4 boxes of stainless steel screws (c40 quid) and a whole load of white plastic caps for the screws in the lining.
I’m not sure my skills are up to many of the wahroom jobs that need doing, but tidying & searching for screws I can do!
The ‘Snug’ also needs a deal of rationalisation.
There’s a couple of car loads of rubbish bagged and ready to go by Mr Chabib’s van.
The front two bags are a bit mucky, rest are nice and car friendly

We absolutely could do with ordering materials for the short wall now. We have space to put them here and a team should be formed to focus on that.
I also estimate as Tommen did earlier in the week that we’re short on lining material. An outside guess is we need 15-20 more sheets, but someone more quantitative should really make that decision this is a guess at best.
The sheets we put up today we tried for the minimum possible overlap - not always possible due to small gaps in the battons, and we edged in the side of caution over the wettest section. Single corrugation overlap should be possible and preferred from here on out though. Even so, we need more material.

who wants to foreman/women the short wall?? the lining crew are busy with lining and it would do morale good to have another couple crews making progress on parallel projects.
For those who are exclusivley involved in planning and not doing the physical work, I have some feedback.
Drawings aside (which are necessary and appreciated), interferene in any form from the sidelines slows crews down.
Left to there own devices the lining crew put up tonnes very quickly.
Also right now and possible other times the delays are not in the actual doing.
We had some people looking to help tonight. We need max four people to put up lining.
We dont need more.
Talk of getting the short wall started has been going on for a while. Is there a delay in planning/ordering. Is help needed in planning and ordering?
We should also be thinking of flooring very soon i think, I can see lining been in done in another few full days, the lining crew can go to flooring then, with the short wall crew movig onto large wall???
Andrew did a load of work as well and thought of an improved version of the light-stick that lets the person putting the screws in see where the battons are behind the lining.

I’m looking forwards to getting stuck into the partition. I’ve bought the doors and we had a good look at it all on Wednesday evening.
I can get most of the partition materials in/on the van without too much pain. At least to get it started.
I’d say an important next step is working out materials for the floor and working out staged delivery and how we’re going to manage the materials.
Floor and first partition can be worked on concurrently, as has be pointed out before.
The timber, sheet and insulation I know @tomnewsom will be able to calculate.
The blocks for the floor: we need a count of exactly what we have now, and possibly a bit of measuring of the concrete heights? Although 100mm blocks are probably the only ones available easily, so maybe just go ahead and order?
How much Damp proof course is left?
My approach to materials is that it’s better to waste a bit of money on having a small amount extra, compared with the waste of people’s time running around picking up extras.
We set up a water level before, but I haven’t seen the clear tube for this in ages. Could just buy a length of clear hose? It’s a very useful and accurate way of transferring heights around big areas.
