is that on the extractor itself or is the message in Job Control?
If its on the extractor, you can just hit enter to stop the beeping and move the message, if Job Control is reporting it wont run because of the error that is a new problem.
Can you take a photo/screenshot of the problem?
Again going to point out how unsafe this is to keep using it like this, it’s been 3 months now. The filters should have been changed ages ago.
Unfortunately I’m tucked up in bed now.
It was the red extractor that was the red extractor that gave the message it also has there error light showing. Usually you can override by hitting enter but the job would still not run.
@pip how close is the new extractor to being finished?
I agree with Tom, this situation has gone on too long. I’ve half a mind to shut down the cutter until the extract is installed. It’s just not safe.
Joe mentioned he will be working alongside Pip to have this complete over the next few days.
Brilliant
I’m not clear but they may have the extractor finished but the controller for it is another matter that I wasn’t clear had even been thought about let alone started.
The laser cutter needs signaling to turn on the fan and then to confirm it’s running.
As an interim, the Atmos can continue to whir away on low power while then extract is turned on manually
How can we set this up?
Literally unplug the hose from the back of the laser cutter, but leave everything else as-is, then plug the new extractor in to the cutter and have a manual on-off switch for it, with a big sign saying TURN THIS ON BEFORE CUTTING OR ELSE!
Will be on route to the space to execute task shortly!
Many many thanks!!
Ah! No I mean when the new extract is actually ready. It’s currently in bits around the messy room…
Doh
Could we just run the extract manually? If the atmos unit isn’t attached won’t the cutter ignore the need for it?
The atmos unit and laser cutter are linked and besides the point is safety not practicality.
I meant that it’s likely quicker to set up a manual extract system, than an interlocking system. Cutter will work without atmos I assume, as this is how many places run them?
Yeah the manual is very clear about it. “Dumb” extract is considered the default installation
so presumably, just unhooking the atmos unit, it’ll still cut?
Until the controller is set up and running, let’s just put the extract and the cutter on the same power-strip, so the cutter can’t be on without the extract?
Not ideal long term, but it’ll be both safe and work.
