Not a crazy notion, IMO.
Need @pip and @joeatkin2 input

No, it knows if the Atmos isn’t running, however there is an option to bypass this interlock in the settings.
@lasertechs
Do we know whats needed for completion of extractor, when completion of extractor is expected, if any other help is needed by people doing the work
Project management for things in a techs area are either the techs overall responsibility, or not, depending on what we decide. But the benefits of having someone regularly check in on people doing projects in that area, weather it be storage for the laser material, extractor etc and make sure they have whatever material, help they need, and also to have/ keep track of information about project, eg estimated completion times/progress, cost…etc, and someone to keep momentum going would be helpful I think…
not aimed at any techs since roles are note yet well defined
I’m in irregular contact with pip/joe. As far as I know, the moving parts are complete. To be minimally functional, it just needs mounting to the wall and plumbing in to the existing extract pipe.
Automation of the various parts is some way off however, and I’m less clear about what is needed.
The core of it is that it needs to send and receive a digital high/low signal at an known voltage, believed to be 24V.
However in practice Joe is also working to ensure the system checks air flow is at a suitable rate.
Will get paint tomorrow , and finish on the weekend , if I don’t have another catastrophic few days
Cold withstanding I’ll be around to help, just been waylaid by usual life stuff.
You shouldn’t allow the life to take over the makerspace!!
stupid qquestion? could we not service/replace filters on existing unit to buy our bespoke filter people some time?
yes, though they’re really expensive.
I think our system is very nearly ready. The policy to only use the laser cutter with room extraction on worked very well…until the filter got completely clogged.
I suggested that ages ago but it was deemed acceptable to keep using it when the filters were dead
I know that is frustrating but what’s the problem of shutting down the cutter for a week? The system is basically ready, air of people invested A LOT of time, money has been spent… be patient…
I don’t think it’s a problem, it’s basically not been working for the last few days anyway.
Has anyone seen the box of zeberdeys ?
I tried to put up the filter
This is not sarcasm: @conomara probably knows better than anyone where most stuff is at the moment.
what is a zeberdey
didn’t come across them
Yes, there are some in the metal corner. Left end of wall shelving if I remember correctly.
