Appreciation thread

Big thank you to @Dermot for cleaning up outside the Makerspace today!
He spent over an hour, ranking up leaves, picking up rubbish and sweeping the whole area!
The place looks great again!

Thanks to @Julia, @Kyle and @Amit_Kohli for reassembling the kitchen and caulking the backsplash so hopefully no more leaks behind messing up the wiring!

Oh no…busted!
Thanks for help!

Note: It was already done two years ago, but had to be removed due to maintanance. We only put it back where it was!

Thanks to @Kyle for building the new ‘Induction Text Generator’

Just used it to create the post for my next induction and worked a treat and the new tick-boxes are also working so already got 3 members ticked their availability

A huge thank you to @Brendon_Hatcher for inducting a total of 25 members on the laser cutter today!

He spent 14 hours here at the space teaching induction sessions about the ins and outs of our laser cutter! And countless hours beforehand to get it set up and run it smoothly.

Also, thank you to @nickc, @Jennifer_Moore and @Kyle to help with the sessions and get everyone familiar with cutting and cleaning procedures!

I would call this a success!

I am very grateful to @Dermot on leading on making this happen and doing all that organisational work behind the scenes to make this happen on behalf of slms by meetings with the organisers and scheduling meetings… And @lewisss who did the initial comms with the Dulwich open house organisers. And of course the two lovely organisers who came to us offering the opportunity.

Also thanks to @conrad who saved the soap workshop…

I am very pleased with the energy put into this.

Thank you very much to @smjmaker for helping me (actually doing it for me while I watched and learnt!) plane and square 3 walnut boards, and to @joeatkin2 for expert advice on how to tackle the bendiest one. They are now joined together and in their new home and are making me very happy!

I also can’t take any credit for the carpentry of these cupboards - I planned the layout but the scale is well beyond my capabilities so a builder made it for me.
