Anyone with Zipvan account and some time this evening?

Hi

After @conomara and @toliver38’s whirlwind clearouut of the messy room and snug there’s a bunch of stuff to clear.

Including a van load that @joeatkin2 is taking.

As Joe no longer has a van (and in recognition of the 1000miles he’s driven picking up Makerspace gear over the last few months) we are happy to pay for a Zipvan.

However:

  • we need someone with an account to organise and drive

  • it needs to be tonight as Joe is going away for a while from tomorrow.

Any takers (or thoughts/solutions)?

Talk about getting a group membership for the space moved to its own thread. Meanwhile, can anyone help tonight?

What time are we talking about? And for how long? I might be able to swing it. Only problem is that I don’t know what time I am back from work so cannot book the van for a specific time, and if I book it when I get home cannot guarantee that the van will still be available

With zip car at least when I joined there was a process where they phoned up dvla on a conference call and I had to give permission for dvla to discuss my licence with zip car.
Just a check on points I seem to remember

There is a van available just round the corner from me. Starting at 19:30

If @joeatkin2 could get in touch with me I will book it.
I need to know for how long to load, drive to destination unload and drive back.

I also will need access to drive up to the makerspace doors or whatever we are moving, moved to the main gates for loading

The van is booked prior to 19:30 so unlikely I will be able to collect it early so will be at the space approx 19:40

If someone can contact me on 07702000125 I think it will be easier to organise over the phone.

I haven’t heard anything so I presume the van is not required this evening.

We can sort out something when Joe gets back. In the meantime I suppose everything will have to go back in the snug

Joe said he would contact you, but wasn’t at all sure he could do it this evening.

I guess at this stage it’s a no go.

Interesting: quite a few members already have Zipvan accounts. Well four that I’m now aware of, I’m guessing there are more?

I am so sorry I missed the longer thread of this post, didn’t fully read until now.

Pants! Large wobbly ones. I have a zipcar account - Zip Car and Zip Van are the same thing because basic driving licence’s are issued with the ability to do so.

Yeah, Dermot, there are surely more members who can step up, I remember zipcar offers coming up before, including me. Timing of this request has been short.

How did this work out?

On this note @joeatkin2 are you around Friday (today11/11) I could rent a zip van to help you move it.
