simple checksumming of transfered packets. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XMODEM
Clients are still available for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms.

Sorry, not my end of the ship! Don’t use macs.
But lrzsz is available for macs

I’ll have a look, managed to get the firmware.
I’ll try putty on a PC I think, I am not into compiling code.
I couldn’t get XModem to work so I tried something else…

Goes from the bootloader / recovery mode to the secondary image
copy flash flash primary
Moves the flash from secondary to primary
boot
Reboots the switch which then works fine again! Yay for deleting the primary image on the switch not being the death nail!
