X1 carbon fixed

X1 not working. Tom and Neil have had a look and think Filament stuck in printer head from previous job. Note cutter is sticking and trying to unload doesn’t work.
I have messaged sam

Ok please leave this and I will have a look when I’m next down. it sounds like a jammed extruder which requiers disassembly of the tool head.

I will be popping by later today to hopefully get this sorted.

Heading in shortly myself, would love to observe!

Ill be in between 5-6:30 so not for a while but can show you if you’re still about.

I think Tom Milner @tmilner was interested in knowing what to do if he is around. I would be too but will be babysitting

En route now. At the whims of the No. 3 bus.

All fixed

It was a jammed extruder. There are a couple of possible causes as to why this happeded.

I have a feeling that it may have been one of the three:
A mis-matched print to filament - Bambu filaments run a bit faster to a tighter tolerance so running other filaments on their profiles can cause problems, make sure to select a generic profile or one from the filament manufacturer when slicing)

A long print that caused the filament to near its glass transition temperature - as the printer is fully enclosed, the internal tempreature can get quite warm which can prematurely soften the filament. It’s therefore advised, on long pla prints especially, to take the top cover off to avoid this.

a re-spooled roll that was mis-identifying due to the rfid tag still being on the spool. If you plan to re-spool a filament make sure it is clearly labeled and ideally don’t re-use a Bambu spool to avoid mis-identification.

These aren’t normally specifics that we cover in the induction otherwise they would never end. Please remember to not assume and double check slicer settings and the filaments you are loading when printing.
