Woodturning blanks - where to get them?

Hi guys, any advice on where to get blanks? Nothing fancy for the moment, I just want to get something to get back into woodturning and familiarize myself with the equipment.
Cheers,
Ugo

Depends on size.

You could probably get some on e-bay - there are a few wood places on there that I have used before.

Axminster Tools sell pen blanks

Stiles & Bates in Dover sell a big selection of woods in lots of different sizes

We bought 2m of square pine slat at Herne Hill builders center, 2x2, picked the one in store that had the least nots, works fine for practicing spindle turning also ends up cheaper per piece once you cut it down to practice blanks.

Hey Sally, did you think about joining wood turning inductor/tech team at our Makerspace?

Sadly Iā€™m not in a position to become a member yet.

I share a shed with my Dad who is a woodturner, so I keep an eye on some of the suppliers he uses for his blanks just in case they might be useful for my projects at some time in the future.

SL Hardwoods down in Croydon have a selection. https://www.slhardwoods.co.uk/products/carving-turning/turning/turning-blanks

Thank you guys!
I will look at the places you suggested and get something
