Woodshop - Glue Tray

Hi all.

I had some beds slats stored for around 3 years.

I wanted to make something for the woodshop, so I proposed the idea to @Destom, about an upgrade to our existing glue tray.

I set about making a three tier glue tray, replete with a small section to separate the two part epoxy tubes that sometimes get lost. I don’t design prior to building but I have a mental picture of what I want it to look like. I was going to use the Festool Domino machine all the way but the workshop ran out of Domino’s…

So, I used my dowel jig to complete the task.

40 minutes glue time meant I could take off the clamps and move onto the next part. At each stage and each of the stadium shelves, I measured the bottles so that we have a small medium and large shelf. Then it was time to fit the French cleat on the back and ensure that it doesn’t tip down by making a brace to the wall each side which also takes the spray bottle handles for storage.

I’ve one thing left to do, and that is give it a good sanding and apply some Danish oil. I took it to the clean room for its clean shot…

And here it is in its final resting place.

Next on my hitlist is the mitre clamps that everyone has knocked onto the floor at some stage or other.

There should be more dominoes under the bench with the CNC computer/sharpening drawer, near the sanding pads.

Also a reminder that for general use to please pay for Dominoes used using the shop link (of course with the exception of ones used for the space like this).
