Hi all,
I’ve fallen a bit being on running assessments in the woodshop. To make up for it I will try a new format this Sunday. I will be in the space from 11am and will be conducting assessments for anyone that shows up. This will be first come first serve.
Note that the router is out of service, I will therefore not be doing any assessments on it, nor the router table.
This is only for members who have already completed their basic wood shop induction. As usual please review the relevant tool page and material, and complete the associated quiz if there is one.
I kindly ask that you are mindful of my time and only request an assessment on a tool that you plan on using in the coming weeks for a project. Don’t come in asking to be assessed on every thing “just in case”.
While not required, please leave a comment if you are interested and plan on joining, along with the tool(s) you are interested in and the rough time of day you are thinking of being there. This will give me an idea of how many people to expect.
Hi @plietar ,
Thanks a lot.
I can be at the space at 11am.
I’m interested in the planer / thicknesses and if possible the table saw.
I’d have to leave around 12pm, do you reckon that’d be enough time ?
Romain
I would love to be inducted on the drum sander, if that’s possible - I’ll need it for the next stage of my project. I already know how the machine works since a couple of people who were inducted have helped me thin out boards - but I haven’t watched anyone change the drum. (I’ll read through the relevant materials of course.)
I can be around any time in the morning - I’ll probably need to leave about 1pm though. Would this be ok?
The drum sander is actually a machine I haven’t used that much and have never inducted any one on yet. @PReardon is the best person to ask. If you manage to arrange a time I would be glad to join so I know what to cover and be able to give out assessments.
Great, I appreciate the initiative. Hope it will go smoothly. I’ll aim to come a bit later, around 12ish as I see that lots of people will be there at 11. Thanks!
