Wood you believe what I found in my wall?

Good evening all, looking forward to meeting you all soon with any luck - I’m Doug, I’ve got a few nice bits and pieces of wood I want to work on for various DIY projects/ home improvements at the mo, so I’m very much looking forward to be shown round all the lovely machines you have in the woodwork shop - and have seen some of them in action already; while working on my timber frame house a while back, two enormous chunks of hardwood were revealed, just thrown into the walls (I mean wtf?! - 1980 council build!) and after realising they were way too big for my hand tools and saw etc I brought one of them them down to see what could be done with it: I think Neil? - really lovely gent  - offered to use the planer / shaper and table saw to true up the bits that I’d cut by hand: long story short, it came up absolutely great and I used it to make a kitchen windowsill which looks incredible; possibly red cedar? whatever it is, it oiled up lush!
So, now I’m up for getting to grips with the other hunk of wood and other various bits n pieces; I have used all machines like this before, but waaaaay back, so looking forward to getting inducted and meeting you all soon!
