Wood storage policy update

@woodworkers

Hi everyone,

Please note that the wood shops storage policy has changed as discussed in the members meeting last month. This is because the number of abandoned projects is becoming a safety issue.

The new style of storage tag must be used and correctly filled out.

Projects must be actively worked on and cannot be stored for more than two weeks.

Projects are being cleared out on a regular basis.

If a project does not have a valid tag it may be moved to the scrap bin without warning.

Thanks @woodtechs

Is there a limit/rule/policy on how long I can keep working on a project for?

Most of my recent projects have taken me two or three months each, even while actively working on them at least once a week and usually much more frequently than that. Is that still acceptable under the new policy?

No, as long as you’re continuing to work on it. What we want to enable above all else is for members to safely work on their woodworking projects. If it’s a larger project that doesn’t fit neatly in the available storage space, speak to @woodtechs and we will facilitate a plan.
