Out of Order Tags
Out of order tags (OOO Tags) are used to indicate that a tool has a significant technical or safety issue and should not be used. This might be a missing safety guard, cracked blade, or jammed fence. It is fitted to the plug or switch of a tool to prevent it from being turned on.
For a fixed/wired-in machine:
- Get a white tag and zip tie from the red woodtech toolbox.
- Fill it out with the date and issue.
- Turn the power switch to the off position.
- Loop the tag through the switch using the zip tie and secure it so the switch canβt be turned.
- Message @woodtechs straightaway to keep everyone aware of the problem.
For anything with a plug:
- Get a white tag, zip tie and lock out box from the red woodtech toolbox.
- Fill the tag out with the date and issue.
- Fit the lockout box over the plug.
- Loop the tag through the lockout box using the zip tie and secure it so it canβt be used.
- Put the tool back in its usual storage spot.
