Window Shadow Box

I managed to get most of the shadow box somewhat sorted before Christmas is over.

It’s still very much a work in progress but hopefully gives some idea of what could be done.

If anyone from @woodtechs (or just anyone with extra time and wood skills) could help I need to work out some sort of frame (currently held together with masking tape and screws!) for panels to be slid in and out so they can be swapped over.

Once it’s sorted I’m hoping to create a basic file that members can access and will be able to create their own panels to layer up into shadow boxes using whichever materials they prefer, this could include plywood, different types of acrylic, screen, eufy or 3D printed elements or a mixture.

There will be led strips of some sort between the layers (hopefully with the help of @Riggerz, the led wizard)
Currently they are just some old battery powered fairylights.

Thanks to @gunch for helping with the laser cutting and files!

If anyone has suggestions, ideas or wants to make some panels for next week when Christmas is over lmk!

Thanks Jan!:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Let me know if you have any ideas for panel designs- a couple of screen printed, laser cut pieces would look pretty cool!

What about a little diorama of people working away at a Makerspace?

I think that would be great!

I’ve spoken with a few members about having a couple of the panels representing each area with silhouettes of people working at machines we have in the space but, personally, I don’t have the Inkscape skills for that one!

If you’re up for creating them I can share the measurements for the panel?
