Who looks after our Discourse?

Hi - who out there looks after our Discourse software? I’m looking at community software on behalf of another project but I’m clueless so would like to pick someone’s brain. How does it work, is it expensive - is there anything better/cheaper out there?!

I’ve been involved in looking after the Discourse.

It’s free open source software - which can be self hosted - hosted on your server (Digital Ocean can host for around £15pm), or they offer their own hosting - https://www.discourse.org/

I chose and installed in the first place.

IMO, it’s the best forum software out there. Very actively maintained and with an excellent user/developer community at https://meta.discourse.org/

If you follow the digital ocean installation step-by-step you can roll your own quite easily. But if you’re not used to command lines, buying domain names etc. then it’s worth the extra to have it hosted by Discourse themselves.

Thanks both - I really like Discourse - which is why I had recommended it to someone looking for something similar but I wasn’t sure of the costs involved. I’ll pass this on.
