Vacuum has no bag inside it. Couldn’t find replacments.
Was going to suggest this earlier but isn’t it time we upgraded to one of the heavy duty karcher vacs? They do ones with a metal body
Interresting I was just planing on bringing mine to the space to vacuum the clean room realistically it’s not possible to use the yellow vaccum we have to do large floor surface. Hopefully I will be in the space by 15pm with it today.
IMHO: A while back I looked into it and decided that based on review (despite being positive non the less) there was no advantage to buy a yellow Karcher to expensive (at least twice the price for about half the capacity) for the spec when you compare to other brand.
I finally settled for Titan 30L Wet and Dry vaccum £70
You can use it with bag for fine dust (cement, plaster dust etc) or without bag
The bag are “relatively” cheap and as written on the tin he work with wet stuff suction
I can also use is as extraction systems for my tools it has that really usefull feature when you can plug your tools onto a socket and the vacuum start when the tool start. I know amateurish for what you guys have achieved in the space but he work for me.
Just my personal view and usage I understand that might be suitable for the space usage
Stand by the tablesaw controls, look at shelving up on the right wall next to you. I think they’re on the top shelf.
I wouldn’t go on specs alone, we need something bullet-proof, with heavy duty casters and a metal chassis. Anything else will break in no time. The karcher was plastic but it’s still managed to get through a year of abuse and is in better shape than the other two vacs we had
I was just thinking also we need a new cordless one as well, to be strictly for the clean room only.
@laurent_muchacho after open evening yesterday we are thinking the same way - I came down this morning to have a bit of a tidy.
That’s a good idea…for the woodshop too…if there’s one sitting on a dock sure more of us would use it…over getting and plugging in corded hoover and putting it back.
There are some in the cupboard under the kitchen sink.
i normally buy them. as well as much of the other stuff for the space.
i have a credit card wish gets £50 put on it each month by the directors and i normally buy all the stuff like tolitet rolls, hand soap, window cleaner, blu roll, toilet roll, kitchen roll, hoover bags, dust marks, stationary, (for some reason the wood techs don’t do this [up till now hopefully]) blah blah blah… ive always managned to make time to buy stuff before but unfortunatly not this month.
ive had a very busy month and been abroad for half of it. ild very much like some help buying this stuff from now on.
i want to suggest having an additional member be given a general budget credit card for this kind of thing. i think its silly having just one person do it. i think its very much overdue for the general budget to go up to £100 any way. if you like this idea add your support to this thread or the directors wont be able to consent to it. they need wider consensus and support to push this kind of thing threw. if you dont register your agreement or support for this it will just get lost in the swirl of discourse and ill be left to buy it by myself.
a budget of 2 x £50 a month doesnt mean we spend £100 every month. it means we have the power to make purchases very quickly with out explaining stuff to directors or without. these are general consumable purchases only.
if you fancy the role please step forward.
i think the budget should go up because we have more members, maybe double since i took on this role, ive been buying more and more stuff, vac bags, printer paper, now clear plastic bags. and the budget gets stretched too far so i cant get baiscs if theres a big order on.
probably a good idea to have a working vac in each room.
+1 this is a great idea.
I will have a lot more time available to do stuff for the space over the next few months now my son is back at school. I think it’s a good idea to have someone else doing this too & im happy to do it. I ran out to buy toilet roll at the beginning of open evening because we had completely run out. We also need rinse aid for the dishwasher and I’d like to get some more red hand towels for the kitchen so we can wash them more frequently.
+1 from me for Sarah to help in this totally unofficially vital role
Please any members who like this idea and like having toilet roll register your support please.
(Just reply to this post and say it’s cool )

@tomnewsom can we find a plugin for discourse that has a limited set of reaction emojis like Slack for +Thumbs up/down etc…
Nice thinking! +1 from me to

Can we have shea butter loo roll and Jamaican blue mountain coffee beans please?
Having a vacuum per room would be awesome
Though I feel the woodshop needs to favour a better floor dust collector attachment to sweep wood chips into abd signs to encourage sweeping over using the vac. Otherwise we will eat through bags daily!
i think @lewisss made something like that. a floor funnel to sweep dust into that goes direct into extraction.
would be good to revisit.
think it was just a proto type.
sweeping in to the extraction for floors and dust pan and brushes might atcually work better in the woodworkshop than a vac???
Update: Saying that i cant see a problem with cleaning options.
