Finally, I’ve finished this:
The frame is welded from box section steel:
And painted to look less homemade:
It’s my first welding project and I really can’t convey how astonishingly chuffed I am with it.
And thanks are due to so many people, particularly @scythian and @VintageSteel for help, advice, inductions, moral support and a lot of enthusiasm.

That looks great! It’s turned out really nicely - I’ve made quite a few things in box section but I’ve never bothered to paint anything. It makes it look really finished.
Yeah, I was amazed by the difference it made. If you look at the corners on the before and after pictures you’d hardly know they were the same piece.
