Hi all, I think there a few of us now interested in using the space on weekday daytimes, for woodwork or for other activities, so I wonder if it would be worth trying to find a regular day to meet up. I’m a bit nervous about being in the space on my own and also it would mean with two or more people there we can use the power tools safely.
I think only Tuesdays & Thursdays work for Rachel, and either is fine for me. Anyone else interested in joining us and have a preference for which day?
FWIW, my understanding was you shouldn’t be doing anything that could cause injury if you’re there by yourself, as there’d be nobody to attend to you or get help. I think the rules have that as using power tools, period, but also say going up ladders.
(I spent a month or so a while back doing lots of daytime shifts in there - won’t be again any time soon, but more people around sure would have been nice!)
I’d be interested in this and am flexible with days so whatever suits other people. I’ve been a member for a couple of months now and haven’t managed to actually make it to the space yet but I’d really like to start using it and day time during the week suits me best 
(I should maybe mention that I don’t have a key fob yet but i hope to sort that asap).
You can pick one up this evening. They’re in the sewing machine desk drawer. Just hold it against the reader outside and then let a trustee know.

@tomnewsom hehe no worries! I was thinking about popping by tomorrow if I could, would be happy to help with the open evening but due to my lack of engagement in the space so far I don’t feel informed enough to really promote it properly. If people are going to be around though I’d like to stop by.

daytimes are also better for me (school hours). Babysitting fees for Monday nights stack up! I can make either day but, of the two, would vote for Thursday.
Thursday is fine for me if this works best for everyone else. I won’t be
able to make it every week but i’ll come as much as I can.

We could also work on making the space as well as / instead of our own projects if there is anyone there who knows what needs to be done.

@beck and I spent a few hours there today. It was nice to have company and I made good progress on an unfinished project that’s been lurking in a cupboard in my house for three years. We left things a LOT tidier than we found them - please don’t be slobs, people!
