Mayku FormBox

The FormBox is a vacuum former where a sheet of plastic is heated to a forming temperature, stretched onto a single-surface mold, and forced against the mold by a vacuum. This process can be used to form plastic molds for applications such as food, crafts, casting and more.


The FormBox can be used for forming molds for casting things such as

  • concrete
  • silicone
  • chocolate
  • jelly
  • resin
  • ice
  • foam
  • jesmonite
  • plaster.

Largest object size that can be formed is 15x15x12cm.
Forming bed - 200mm x 200mm
Draw Depth - 130mm
Weight - 13kgs
Temp range of the built-in heater is 160C - 340C.

Materials that can be used:

The Mayku FormBox works best with thermoplastic sheets of 0.25 - 1.5mm in thickness.

Before Use

Follow this video to set up the machine.


During Use

  • Only use approved materials in the former.
  • The ceramic plate of the heater on the underside of the top unit of the FormBox can become extremely hot under operation and may cause serious burns. Do not touch under operation.
  • When in use, surfaces directly under the heater of the FormBox will become very hot.
  • When sheets are heated in the FormBox they will become very hot, do not touch Mayku sheets until they have cooled after use.
  • The FormBox melts plastic sheets and other materials which may emit fumes and odours under normal circumstances and if overheated. Always use the FormBox in a well ventilated area.

After Use

  • Please make sure to turn the heating element off as soon as you’re done forming.
  • Clean the parts from anything that is left from forming.
  • Place all items back in the box
