Using the sink in Ceramics

Tags: #<Tag:0x00007fa499203f88>

Hey everyone,

I just want to bring to your attention that the sink in the Ceramics area has a clay trap, essentially acting as a filtering tank, to prevent clay from going down the drain.

I appreciate that at the moment this is the only sink in Arch 2. However, I ask everyone not to dispose of anything other than clay in this sink. This includes oil or washing out brushes after finishing.

May I suggest we place a sign somewhere? This potentially reduces the risk of people using it for other than clay by 25%, being overly optimistic here…

How about a lid that goes on top of the sink when it’s not in use - with a warning in big letters not to ruin all the clay in the trap?

If there’s scrap ply that’s big enough, I’d be keen have a stab at making this! I’ve not been inducted on the CNC just yet, but when I have that’d be a good project to carve the sign notice in with. How would you feel about that @Karin @CeramicsTechs?

Happy to talk about ideas. We are still figuring out the sink area as people just started using the area and we make improvements along the way.

Dear all. The sink in the washroom is now working please wash out your brushes here , Do not use it for plaster/cement/ two pack thermo plastics as this will block it up. Thank you Also do not use the kitchen sink as this is a food prep area or the toilet (unless its on your hands ).Keep well . Brian D=
