I think they should be oiled up in general, lets get a couple cans of the cheaper osmo and finish them up. It’l look nice and we wont have to worry in general.
Yes…however, it’s not that cheap!
But good.
is there a cheaper alternative? over chip-board osmo may be more of a fine finish than is needed, but some kind of oiling would be lovely.
linseed oil?
I have an old baked bean can by my hob that I collect cooking fat in?
Mix it with a biocide…
Actually I did wonder what oil you could use…
Guys I think that is really really really time to stop fluffing about paint and finish and start FILLING that bloody room! The walls the floor everything will be covered in dust after one week (even with proper extraction) and in glue and paint spillage after one month! So no point!!! Me and Joe yesterday plan a big big push on furnishing the workshop for today, tomorrow and Sunday so if we oil the walls this will be delayed of at least 1 week! I really wouldn’t like it! But anyway of course as always is just my opinion, and you guys know that we are open to everything! Just please let us know if we must wait, so I can change my plans for the week end!
I agree with Stefano. Oil on the floor is important for non-slip and liquid protection. Anywhere else is a luxury. If we want functioning workshops by the 28th, we need to start fitting them out.
It’s fine it’s a workshop I it’s a functional room
It’s really not a big deal.
If we want to oil the walls it can be done at almost any time. It’s not like the floor, it’s not a dependency for working/filling the workshop…
I totally agree about getting the workshop filled BTW.
If there are plans to work over the weekend then can someone put up some ‘Make the Space’ posts so we get a maximum amount of hands down there, and utilise the labour we have.
I can come for a few hours from 11 tomorrow, but have plenty of other calls on my time. However if a few of us our down we can get a bunch of stuff shifted…including the table saw?
lets do it!!!
I’ll be about a bunch of sunday, probably.
You want to do a post to rally a team?
ok!!!
also worth thinking in advance what space we want / need on wednesday
We need phase 1 clear and safe.
Probably another post needed for this.
I think we’ll move the big tables out, and cover the electronics gear? Or put up warning tape?
Dermot and I had a quick chat and we reckon Clean room for the film. Easy to shift clutter through to Messy so you don’t have to walk past piled up furniture to get to the empty room.
Shall move this discussion to:
And finally the last coat of oil is DRY!! we can call it finish!
