Hello - I have a pile of tools to donate - pliers, hammers, staple gun, screws, and 18 bags of 30cm cable ties! I am/was the chief set dresser for CATS the musical, and I am scaling back my collected tools from multiple site jobs to free up space in my garage.
I just found out about this space and see I missed the recent open evening. Are extra tools welcome at the space?
Hello there!
First of all welcome to the community and thank you for your message.
Extra tools are always welcome but unfortunately we need to be super aware of space, as our premises are already quite packed!
Consumables like cable ties, screws and similar are always accepted, while hand tools and power tools need to be approved by the “techs” (the people that run all the different workshops).
Another thing to consider is that hobby-grade power tools get worn at an incredible pace in our makerspace, so we try to acquire only professional grade ones.
For the cable ties and the screw I can already say yes, we can take them!
For all the rest, the best course of action is to post a couple of pictures if you can, and wait for the Techs to respond.
Thank you so much!
Agreed on consumables, we have loads of pliers and hammers, but I do recall talks of needing a better quality staple gun I think?
is it best to come along with the cable ties and some boxes of screws next open evening?
Whatever is convenient for you, you’re welcome down at any time.
This coming weekend someone will be there pretty much 24/7
Ok I will stop by this weekend, probably Sunday morning
Ooh, the one time we’re closed for cleaning! It should be fine if you’re just dropping stuff off, we receive deliveries all the time. @platinumnqueen22
