Tools/consumables questions

I’ve been tearing wood pallets apart recently, and quite frankly it’s an unmentionables-ache with a mallet and claw hammer. The ever patient @lewisss recently directed me to a scissor jack tucked away in the snug, but when we dug it out we found that the crank handle was missing from the box. Anyone have any idea where it is?

Second question: @PaolaCastillo and I have a handful of boards we’d like to give a single coat of varnish – is there any quick dry wood varnish at the space available for use? Or should we pick some up?

Cheers folks!

Connect the jack to one of the cordless drills.

I have a scissor jack you could borrow @danleblanc01.
If my jack’s handle works on the space jack, then it could be used as a template to make one for SLMS…?

That’s very kind of you Tom! I may take you up on that offer soon…

@RichM is that possible? How would I go about doing that?

Depends on the jack I suppose. The one in the back of my car has a folding handle that’s basically just a piece of 8mm bar, so popping the plastic cap off meant it fitted straight into the drill chuck.

Perhaps file or grind down the head of an M10 bolt so it engages with the jack and then stick the threaded end in the drill?
