I’m planning to be there and hopefully catch some ESP8266 action.
I’ll also bring a SparkFun L6470 Stepper Driver Breakout that I mentioned to @Barnaby_Coote

Hi,

not been before,

I have micro hdmi_d & oshpark breakout board, would like to assemble!

trick is all 19 pins are hidden, something like bga, without the solder balls.

has anyone tried this?

any advice?

Howdy, are you talking about this board:

??

If yes, the pins should be exposed, like this:

It is a delicate job and doable with soldering iron and steady hand.

Ideally you would use an oven or hot air gun but there’s a simple trick to soldering that style of connector with an iron using flood fill and solder wick… i’ll bring some wick with me !

We have an SMD rework station now!

Cool! @Jonathan_Chetwynd looks like you are in luck. Don’t forget the HDMI connector?

?!?! what sort ?!? where’d it come from ?

Do you need Paste etc, I have spare here ?

Courty

eBay or Amazon or some other webvention.

So a Hot Air gun type I assume ?

Courty

Yes, not sure where it is but it’s there.

I was all exited then, lol - will bring Paste AND the wick just in case…

Thanks Daniel ! I have a dsp one on order I’ll tell you if it arrives in time. Otherwise I’d be glad to have one to tinker with and get my motor working.

What time are people coming down?

Couple of us here already !

Would someone be able to chuck my forgotten Thurs Electronics Evening - 28th July lock & lock box into the bigger Arduino box? I left it next to the monitor next to the Windows desktop. It looks like this:

Thanks for reading and thanks again for a lovely evening!
