Textile corner: sewing machined

@textilestechs @directors I can’t locate my orginal post, but any chance we could have the machines serviced?

Just been preping for the sewing machine basics session tomorrow and the bernina belt which has been looking in a sad state for a while, has finally busted and is out now out of order.

I’m guessing if a service is a stretch we can just replace the belt ourselves. And maybe have a day of servicing the machines ourselves with a good clean and oiling.

Cheers.

Whatever the @textilestechs think. On another forum someone said they had someone due to do some servicing: I’m trying to find out how that went, and will post back when I find out.

What can I contribute? yes I’m happy to approve any such service of the
machines.

Sorry I’m away this month, yes I noticed the machines need some tlc. Does anybody know someone who services sewing machines? I know the place in tooting? Or we can do it ourselves?

The Tooting one seems to be the only game in town around here. Directors are happy to fund this if it’s reasonable, so @textilestechs please get a quote!

Ellie from Institute of Making has a contact who is a Bernina specialist, and significantly cheaper that WimSew. Should have a contact number tomorrow.

Sorry I’m away all month

I have a contact number for John Kennedy, a Bernina specialist that Institute of Making recommended. I’ll share with @textilestechs in a DM
