THE MINESWEEPER SATURDAY 8TH OCTOBER 8.30PM
Ampers&nd
Ampers&nd formed in 2001 in South London and are fascinated by the borders
between music and noise.
They are an improvising quartet influenced by industrial groups from the
1980s including Test Dept and Bow Gamelan Ensemble. Responding to
the surroundings of the live space they use a collection of sounds creating
sonic sculptures that feature found objects, engineered metal and
de-constructed instruments.
Sounds mesh together creating multifaceted timbral music that is both
dense, ethereal and meditative. www.ampersand.tv http://minesweepercollective.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a474d2d14bac2892b41a67e3b&id=2cf7d7ca6b&e=5341662a49
Khaled Kaddal
Khaled Kaddal is an Egyptian interdisciplinary artist and experimental
musician. Currently based in London, pursuing his studies on Sound Art. His
works focus on the aesthetics of sound with the interest in
expanded listening, and the socio-political aspects of sound and
music. Scoping on
the perceptions and the thresholds of listening, by questioning the
radical margin between consonance and dissonance, silence and noise. Interested
in enlarging the understanding of oriental aesthetic by taking it to a
post-music territory, where the musical structures are de-composed to the
notions of sounds.
With the accompaniment of visuals, his performances use electronic
and acoustic instruments to form a sonic narration, to dance the mind
instead of the body. www.Khaledkaddal.com http://minesweepercollective.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a474d2d14bac2892b41a67e3b&id=706666aaaf&e=5341662a49
