Source of green wood for spoon carving

Hello, for my birthday my wife got me a couple of basic spoon carving tools, something I’ve wanted to have a go at for a while.

I’ve had one attempt so far from some kiln dried poplar. I picked it as the softest wood I had but it was still hardish going. Before making any more, I’d like to get my hands on some green wood.

Does anybody have a source of green wood? Ideally in the next 1.5 weeks I’d get hold of some and make some blanks ahead of a weekend camping trip.

Have a look on marketplace and gumtree, I look every now and then and there’s usually some in the nearby vicinity going!

There are tree surgeons that bring wood to greenwood coops like https://londongreenwood.com/ you could visit the coops and just ask for some wood.
