I have been made aware the painting and finishing area is no longer moving forwards as a priority over member storage in the snug as a result my reason for being in charge of that space has been removed and I will no longer be in charge of the sung

To be clear, we are not saying we don’t want to implement the painting and finishing area, but there is a lot of pressure from both members and techs to re-activate project storage as there are projects in the way all over the Space.
So we have cleared off the shelves to allow project storage again, and put the junk we are trying to get rid of in the painting and finishing area temporarily instead of in the messy room and project storage as members need to use those areas. Update post coming soon. And yes, contact @directors with any questions!
The Ceramics area is still waiting for a decision regarding whether we can have space in the snug and, if so, how much. This will help us figure out how we can develop the area further. I’d appreciate any updates. Thank you!

Ideally, we would like some space to store clay, as we’re reaching a point where it’s no longer feasible for me to pick up the required amount regularly. Bulk buying would be much more practical.
We also have some tabletop wheels, which would free up some much-needed workspace. Once the kiln is functional, we’d also like to store kiln shelf wash and other techrelated things.
Which projects have been moved back to the snug?

I know you’re about to make a post, but my 2p is opening the snug up to project storage is going to end up overflowing the snug with abandoned projects very quickly, just as it always has. Even current state the only thing keeping it clear is Steve clearing stuff out that keeps getting dumped there, and the only reason that really happens is as “snugtech” he has the authority to do so.
Happy to have him continue being ‘snugtech’ and clearing things out, but not happy to have projects all over the Space including on desks and in piles in the messy room. Project storage always definitely involves regular clear outs!
Maybe it’s time to enforce the allowable project times and be strict about it, that’s what we are trying to do in the woodshop
