Probably most relevant to @metaltechs but happy to hear from anyone else!
I’ve got a project in the pipeline I’m hoping to get kicked off in the next few weeks. It’s a sign for a festival I’m going to (not EMF, another more obscure one!) Basically it’ll spell out “art” in letters in different styles. I’m planning to do it in 1mm sheet steel and it’d make life easier to fold quite a few parts - it’d also save a heap on welding gas now I think about it.
I don’t think we have a folder in the space - correct me if I’m wrong?
There are some quite cheap options available that can bend steel that thickness - if I picked one up would the space want to have one as a donation or would it be in the way? I think all the dimensions I want to work in are under half a metre so it wouldn’t be a big piece of kit. I could always store it myself but if it’d be useful I’d be happy to make it available.
And yes it lives hanging on the wall near the welding coats.
It mounts on the table via some pre-drilled holes with M10 bolts.
It’s not the most sturdy unit, and has a few limitations when doing multiple bends close together so some careful planning will be needed, but it’s better than not having it!
Feel free to have a play with it and see if it can be suitable for your needs!
