Seeking woodwork advice!

Hi all!,

Looking for some advice here. A month or two ago I ‘finished’ my first major project at the woodshop. I made two of these beech and walnut end grain chopping boards. I oiled + waxed one and it has held up fine, and hadn’t got round to finishing the other until today.

I noticed that there is a slight split in the end, photographed below. I assume because of shrinkage.

Is there a fix? I was thinking of mixing in some walnut dust into some wood glue and hoping for the best.

Otherwise I guess there are some epoxy resins that could work if I found a food safe one, but don’t really want to fork out on a 2 ltr bottle.

Be good to hear any thoughts an tips!

Cheers.
