Just in case the woodworking people are out of ideas
i would really like to do this
Me 2. It’s absolutely beautiful. Check out this jeweller http://brittaboeckmann.com/woodandresin/
We would get a safer and better result if we could pop it into a pressure chamber to remove all the bubbles while curing the resin…
Yes, that’s what @lewisss was saying! He mentioned using a vacuum former, one is being made by @Kostas …
So weird I came across the same video on monday
the vacuum would add bubbles into the mix =/
if you use a heat curing resin, the vacuum tank could be used to impregnate the wood, leave it till the bubbles stop forming. (wood needs to be bone dry first)
rotten, soft, punky/spalted wood is good for this.
then when the bubbles stop just leave it in the resin overnight or longer to get full penetration of the resin, then wrap in foil and bake
What is the current deal with el vacuum chamber? I’d totally like to vacuum chamber some stuff, you know, with air in and that.
We managed to boil water at room temperature and got a near perfect vacuum so good to go. You do need to attach the hose to the output as it spits oil if you don’t. Very good quality unit !

It needs some documentation: who does it belong to, how long is it on loan for, RA of course, instructions…
I thought it turned up with the haul from the other week. Same batch as the Raspberry Pis, resin printer and the gear cutter etc

No I think it is a loan from a member. Female from memory
Correct! Was there when she brought it in. Don’t know her name tho.
