I just completed my level 1 induction on the lathe this week and am interested in building up some skills. I was looking at blondihacks and found a metal scribe tool (link below!) that might be fun to make. It would need a couple of skills that werent covered in the induction though - end support with the tailstock and using the compound for a taper. It would also be great to put some knurling on the body too if the makers space has a knurler? Would any of the @metaltechs be free over the next few weeks to show me how to do these operations / not to damage the lathe?

Sounds like a great idea. I (for one) would be more than happy to help in any way I can and guide you on how to use tail support. We also have kneeling tools so your project is definitely very possible.
BTW, thanks for taking the advice and reaching out for help in trying new processes.
If Iβm not around, Iβm sure @stefanoromano would also be more than happy to help.
If you want to arrange a good time, just shout

By the way, I am 1000% sure that we have knurling tools! Not entirely sure about kneeling tools.
