[Resolved] Shutter access incident (shutter one not working)

Was closing last night and didn’t see a piece of wood propped up against the wall on the first shutter. The shutter came down on the wood and jammed it, I pressed the stop button to dislodge the wood, the first shutter does not work it’s about a 1/4 open. Not sure if it’s permanently damaged or just needs to be unjammed but I will stay at the space until someone arrives in the morning.

Apologies for any inconveniences

I have to leave at 6am everything is basically shuttered and you can access the through arch 2, I really apologise for this I just didn’t see the wood in the dark.

Morning Seb.

I arrived at the space at around 7:30 today and was able to come in using the wood working entrance. It doesn’t look like the manual controls are working so the shutter on the clean room entrance is still stuck at half mast, but at least people are able to come in and out.

When you are inside arch 1 and press the reset button then press up does it click inside the metal cabinet?

It does click, but then nothing happens. The red manually lift button doesn’t seem to do anything.

@directors

I suspect the same failure has happened as before, the direction relay in the metal cabinet has fused in the closed position so it will only go down.

The solution would be for someone competent with 240V mains electricity to open the cupboard, identify the blue finder relays, and confirm if they’re both operating correctly.

The relays should be easily pulled in/out from their base.

One is for power, the other is for direction. The direction one welding itself closed was the problem last time when the shutter wouldn’t open.

Mechanical stuffs sorted (a couple of leaves of the shutter needed to be put back in place and bent into shape, one of the plastic thingies removed and reattached). Looks like the third relay is having an issue, though this is beyond my troubleshooting ability to solve.

The shutter has been manually wound open and closes with the arch 2 shutter when closed normally.

Amazing work team Shutter!

I guess this is what happens when you install a second hand shutter and use it for almost another decade… You become shutter experts!
