Question: Forstner Drill Bits 45mm and 55mm

Hey i need to make a few holes in my desk for a 3d printed piece that routes cables through it.
@woodtechs

I need a 55mm fosner bit and a 45 spade/fosnerbit i was wondering if i could borrow one from anybody here for a week or so, before i go and buy one of each.

I just thought i’d ask here first. :smiley: thank you for reading

I can probably lend you a hole cutter

I need to make a flat step and a hole. I have a hole cutter but that wouldn’t do for this use case thx for offering @joeatkin2

Can you take the top off? We can cut a hole any size you want on the big CNC….

There are a few ways you could do this

  1. cut hole then use a router with bearing guided cutter (cutter wider than bearing)

  2. Cut two templates on laser cutter and use a straight templating bit on router

  3. Use two hole cutters. Large one first to define size and depth of stepped hole, then cut centre hole using previous guide hole all the way through, finish raised area between centre hole and outer cut with chisel or router plane.

  4. Big Cnc

Yeah i was going to do the double bits , cut the big hole and the small hole after with forstner bit.

I didn’t think about using the router, thx for the suggestion I’ll look into see if i can manage to do it using the router to clean up with a laser cut template.

Thank you guys.
