Hi everyone, my first major project is a raspberry pi- powered aquarium, I have seen a few people who have done this successfully on the internet from my browsing so far.
Planned functions:
Water Level Sensor
Temperature sensor
Cooling fan control
Control of water exchange
Auto-feeder
Camera for remote monitoring
Project idea:
I’m planning to get an axolotl as a pet and would like a system where I can monitor it and automate the aquarium for when I am out of the house.
One of the best examples I have seen: Example 1
Axolotls like cool water, under 20 degrees c so a temperature control system will be important. Chillers are very expensive and often unnecessary so I’m planning to use a set of 3 large (140mm) fans for evaporative cooling if the water temperature rises above 20.
Being able to automate water changes and switch lighting from a web interface would also make care a lot easier.
