Hi, Me and Daniel saw this earlier in the week , plugged it in and it worked fine so the only question me and Daniel have is what is not working on it ???
I’ve just been reading up - mark reckoned it was the brushes (annoyingly they claim those aren’t user serviceable so it’s not something we can pop open and check easily).
I’m ordering a batch of spares for the hand tools this week, I’ll include some aftermarket brushes for that sander and faultfind it properly this weekend.
Happy to loan a pretty cheap (but functional) sander if that would help. Can drop it off at the space tomorrow. Worth noting though that it doesn’t have a compatible hoover attachment, unsure of that would be an issue.
Hi Charlie - we’ve had it apart since my last post to see if it was fixable and are looking for a new one.
Max previously handled purchasing for the woodtechs and we’re in the process of handing that over now he’s a director, so as soon as that’s done we should be able to order this and other spares. Apologies for the delay!
Still happy to lend a sander as a temporary fix - as said though, it doesn’t have a vacuum attachment (imagine it would be easy to print one though). Will defer to woodtechs, I can drop off if they are keen.
Side note for anyone else looking to use the orbital sander: the compressed air powered one works fine and is actually fantastic, way better than the out of action electric one
Turns out there’s a reason various people swear by pneumatic disk sanders over electric
