Hi Makers,
A quick update on the Laguna Revo 24|36 and how we’re rolling things out.
Originally, the plan was to make both lathes available under the same induction and tool control but after spending more time with the Laguna, it’s clear that this new machine is on a completely different level. It’s far more powerful, more precise and more sensitive to incorrect setup than the old Tyme Avon; that means it deserves (and needs) a more careful approach to keep everyone safe and protect the equipment.
Because of this, we’ve decided to introduce two separate tool controls, one for each lathe.
And for anyone who already has L1 or L2 from the old lathe, we’ll do a quick assessment so you can be signed off for the Laguna. Nothing long, just making sure everyone is confident with the new controls and procedures.
All the updated information is live on the Laguna tool page and we’re hoping the new risk assessment will be formally approved very soon. Once that’s done, inducted members will be able to start using the new machine.
Thanks for your patience while we get this right.
