@hernehillier is your little hot pot wax melter still in the space? I’m rebuilding my drive train next week when my cassette, derailleur and chainring arrive and would love to do my chain right.
Any other tips for first time new chain prep?

Make sure you have stripped off the factory grease off before waxing.
It’s expensive but the Silca chain stripper is very effective and not too horrible to use (especially compared to other solvents). 1 bottle lasts for many chains so although it has high initial outlay it isn’t too bad value in the long run.

Not advice but ive just switched to a waxed chain setup and im never going back to conventional chain lubes. Its epic, enjoy

@nhjansen I did leave a rice cooker bike wax pot there some months ago. Yellow with black, if memory serves. The area is a bit crowded currently but you might find it underneath the wooden workbench proximal to the toolwall. It has silca wax in it currently. Remember to put down a floor cover before you pick the chain out of the wax please 
Tips:
Strip a brand new chain of the factory anti-rust coating. Lots of videos on it online. Silca’s chain stripper is pretty great, and may or may not be straight diesel. Use isopropyl for the final chain bath before putting in the wax. If the wax smokes, it’s too hot. You’ll want the chain to let the chain warm up in the wax so the wax adheres. Swish the chain a few times in the liquid wax. Use a wooden or soft metal rod to loosen the links once the chain has cooled.
