Need help making a hood/scarf

Basically need to make something a lot like this, not exactly like it but something that covers the entire head, but leaves the face exposed, whilst also drooping down and covering the neck and shoulders.

Preferably made of a material which will keep sweat levels to the lowest possible, but also not a transparent material either. Also, I’d very much like it to be a piece of clothing which doesn’t actually need to be wrapped around my head, but rather a separate piece which can simply be taken on and off like a balaclava.

So yeah, if any textilers see this and are willing to help, please do let me know and we’ll arrange a time for it.

Looks like a Tuareg head wrap.

Wrapping one doesn’t seem too hard, but you could try wrapping them pinning it in place with some safety pins and it might keep the same shape. Or wrap and pin over a balaclava.

do you have fabric? when are you hoping to finish? and is the priority “as much like this visually as possible, I’m working on a cosplay” or more like “I’m running a marathon in the desert and need to protect my neck”?

I can maybe help. I’m at the woodwork induction tomorrow, but probably going to hang around and work on wedding shirts for a bit after if you’re around? if not, maybe we can organise another time.

(if you haven’t already got fabric, aim for lightweight plant-based)
