Does anyone use any mixer software, looking for a virtual studio software to overrdub etc,
Yes, I use Cubase Pro, Bitwig Studio and Reaper for all things Audio on a daily basis. I run both Windows and Linux for audio production which Bitwig and Reaper support really well and stable. Cubase only works on Win and OSX.
At the end of the day, all DAWs do the same thing. You could totally try free and or opensource alternatives too, to get a feel (Ardour, Audacity…)
What I’d stay away from is companies with weird licensing models… Avid, PreSonus… etc, but that is IMHO.
