The missing Mitutoyo caliper has now “reappeared” and the power to the metal area has been restored.
Funny how taking a firm stance suddenly produced results. Apparently we now need to manage basic respect for shared tools like a kindergarten.
Sorry to everyone for the disruption, but clearly it was necessary.
This issue is still extremely serious and it will need to be addressed properly going forward. The workshop cannot function if expensive shared equipment keeps “walking away,” especially when people are putting significant time, effort, and money into improving the space for everyone.
