μMeet Thursday 16th July 2015 - Esp8266 wifi and DHT22 Sensors

μMeet is on as usual this week.

Members will be working on their own projects…
I will bring along the ESP8266 mini wifi microcontrollers ive been playing with this week.
So far ive had it logging temp and humidity to a remote server and reading rfid tags to check against our door entry system. All from within the Arduino environment.

All levels of experience are welcome. If your stuck ask for some help, If youve got something to show and attendees are interested please feel free to show off.

The μMeet box of bits has components and tools for members to use.
We are slowly building the collection up.
This week I will add a couple of DHT22 temp/humidity sensors for members to try.
Very easy to use with the arduino DHT library.

If you have an idea for a more formal show and tell or demonstration, get in touch and we can arrange a date and time for it to happen.

Are you all coming tonight or are you all away in the sun somewhere.

Gordon

The wife is away
The daughter unsat

Ergo

The wifi is unplayed
1-wires unseated

At least I have the sunshine of their love…

Sum:
Cannot come

Bit quite down here tonight.

Just Jim, Will B and myself and for a short time TomL.

So Ive` been trying to find out why the Doorbot has been playing up.
Seems all the Arduino, Ethernet shield and RFID stuff is behaving beautifully.
But for some reason the 12v AC supply isnt behaving and tripping the solenoid in the lock. So Im trying a new power supply and arranging a backup key to be put in the key box in case of failure.

Im now on my own so will be leaving shortly.
